Calking the tub with House Wine Rosé
I’ve never calked a tub in my life. Never. I figured it can’t be that hard, right? I mean, the reason I’m doing it, is because this is a top floor bathroom and the kids are taking baths up here. Kids being kids, splash around and the linoleum was lifting at the base of the tub, so I calked it, to avoid any water getting under the tub.
Now, we need to redo this whole bathroom: tile, vanity, sink, tub, etc, so this is a bandaid, FOR SURE.
As for the wine, I chose House Wine Rosé in a can. I’d usually grab a Coors Light for a chore like this, but I was out (something about an aluminum shortage????). The canned wine seemed like a delicious option and it paired perfectly with calking the tub (ha!).
Their Rosé in a can has 12% alcohol and I can taste some sweetness, but there is also nice acid, so it balances it out nicely. My guess is they do this because in the can, it’s hard to smell the wine. The sweetness brings out the fruit flavors of the wine. It’s definitely easy drinking…almost too easy…I could get in trouble with this one. 1 can = two glasses, so 2 cans would be an ENTIRE bottle of wine.
I found something interesting, as I was researching the Rosé after drinking the wine, they have 3 formats you can find their wine in: can, box and bottle. When digging deeper, it appears that they put different versions of the wine into each vessel. For example: the can states 12% alcohol and the bottle states 13.28%. I have yet to find a bottle of their Rosé to taste and compare. My guess, is like I mentioned previously, it’s meant to be consumed in the can, so you can’t smell it the same way in the other formats, so they’ve made some modifications to make it more enjoyable.
