Andrew Wright of Merryvale Vineyards

Ok, so I haven’t actually MET Andrew, but come on….if he’s not a wine hottie, who is?? One glance at his Instagram shows his hobbies include: his baby girl, wife, wine industry and coffee….which…makes him even hotter!

According to the Merryvale website, Andrew:

• Grew up in the Sonoran Desert (no wine is grown there folks).

• His love affair for wine started in the Finger Lakes wine growing region, on a trip after college.

• He started in the industry planting grape vines in the high desert outside of Sonoita, Arizona, for Callaghan Vineyards.

• He moved to Napa Valley in 2012 and has worked for: Harlan and BOND Estates, Promontory and The Napa Valley Reserve, and Fruition Sciences.

• Now, winemaker at Merryvale, he deeply believes that winemaking is the synthesis of philosophy, agriculture, science, and art.

• Andrew graduated with a History degree from the University of Arizona before studying Winemaking at UC Davis.

• He lives with his family in St. Helena, and when not making wine, he enjoys cooking, hiking, and attempting to play the guitar.
